Indigenous People’s Day Museum Events

Celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day at WOW! Children's Museum with a free day of dance, stories, food and hands-on making. The Museum will be OPEN and admission is FREE for everyone from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

At 11:00am, join us for a special dance performance by Raelene Whiteshield of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma and the Kiowa Tribe.

All day long, families can enjoy:

  • Storytime featuring Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story by Kevin Noble Maillard
  • Fry bread samples from Denver's own Tocabe, An American Indian Eatery
  • Take-home fry bread ingredients so you can make the recipe together in your own kitchen (while supplies last)
  • A clay pinch pot craft
  • More storytimes and crafts throughout the day

Bring the whole family, stay as long as you like, and head home with a new recipe to share.

WOW! occupies the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands of the Arapaho, Cheyenne, Núu-agha-tʉvʉ-pʉ̱ (Ute), and Očhéthi Šakówiŋ (Sioux) peoples. With this land acknowledgment, we affirm Indigenous sovereignty, history, and experiences.
