Believe or not, summer is coming! During these warm weather months we are excited to offer more ways than ever for our visitors to Learn Through Play! In the summer we typically see an increase in the number of field trips with children coming from daycares and day camps, as well as an increase in the number of school age children who are able to visit the Museum. To help provide all visitors with fun learning experiences, we offer special summer events, programs, and classes. With this increase in activity, we rely on our wonderful volunteers to help facilitate our programs, assist with classes, and help out on the Museum floor.
Our summer volunteers help with our special events, such as our annual visit from the Denver Zoo during our June Discovery Days and our exploration of water and bubbles during our July Discovery Days program. Volunteers in our Education Department help with our special classes, such as the science of ice cream! On the Museum floor, our volunteers help with summer crafts, activities, and playing games with our visitors. The summer also provides ample opportunities for middle and high school students to get a jump on their club or school-required hours.
If you think that you would like to volunteer during the summer, or would like more information about our volunteer program, please contact Kim Brown, Volunteer Director or 303-604-2424 ext. 705.
