Summer Class Volunteers

Posted on June 8, 2017 | WOW! Children's Museum

Have you ever wondered how ice cream is made? Or how to create a self-portrait? Ever wanted to make a pirate ship?

At WOW! we offer hands-on art and science summer classes to provide additional ways for our young visitors to learn through play.  This year, our class topics include: Make a Clay Fish, Create a Self Portrait, Watercolor Painting,  Pirate Ship Makers, and the ever popular Science of Ice Cream.  During these classes our volunteers help support our education staff as well as helping kids directly with class activities. It is a great hands-on volunteer opportunity and you might learn a little something new too!

Our 2017 class schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, July 11: Make a Clay Fish at 3 pm to 4 pm

Wednesday, July 12: Science of Ice Cream at 10:30 am to 11:15 am, or 1 pm to 1:45 pm

Tuesday, July 18: Create a Self Portrait at 3 pm to 4:15 pm

Tuesday, July 25: Watercolor Painting at 3 pm to 4 pm

Tuesday, August 1: Pirate Ship Makers at 10 am to 11 am

Wednesday, August 2: Science of Ice Cream at 10:30 am to 11:15 am, or 1 pm to 1:45 pm

Our summer class volunteers are asked to come 15 minutes before the class begins to get familiar with the class subject matter, and to stay 15 minutes after the class ends to help with clean up. If you would like any more information or to help with any of the classes, please contact Kim Brown, Volunteer Director.
