WOW! Children’s Museum is dedicated to engaging children and families in creative learning experiences. We specialize in highly interactive programs for small groups that give each child an opportunity to explore art, science, and culture. We offer a variety of program formats to meet the diverse needs of our community – from Discovery Days drop-in programs for children as young as 2 years old to after school programs at local schools. See our Field Trips pages too!
WOW! is an excellent resource for outside-the-classroom learning. We believe in the power of play! The social and cognitive skills learned at a very young age lay the foundation for acquiring important skills later in life. WOW! plays a critical role in our community by providing informal play experiences in a safe and educational environment. Within our Museum walls, children explore exhibits about a variety of subjects, including STEM, art, music, dance, theater and practical life.
We help make memories! We connect children to caregivers, families to families, and people to the place we live. By working with local musicians, artists, educators, and storytellers, we’re connecting children with the rich resources available in our community, and helping teach them about their world.
WOW! seeks to provide hands-on science experiences for students and spark their interest in the sciences. Children can discover their inner scientist during our monthly drop-in Discovery Days programs, included with Museum admission. Discovery Days programs extend and deepen a child’s understanding of a variety of science topics by providing a multi-sensory, hands-on, engaging experience. Discovery Days feature a different topic each month, including: energy, weather, animals, seasons, health and more. We also host NanoDays workshops at the Museum in March, promoting the study and application of nano-sized things. Interested in volunteering with our drop-in programs? The Museum relies on the assistance of volunteers to deliver our drop-in programs to children and families. Check out our volunteer page to learn more about opportunities available and how to get started.
WOW!’s mission is to serve the entire community by providing a quality Museum experience for children and families of all backgrounds and abilities. Our Sensory Friendly Playtime is designed especially for children with autism or sensory processing disorders and their families. The Museum turns down sounds and lights on exhibits, provides special adaptive equipment like weighted vests and headphones, and has an occupational therapist at the event as a resource for families.
WOW! is also a great resource for local educators! We rent our activity rooms to educators and organizations needing a convenient meeting space for their classes. Check out our calendar for upcoming classes and register directly with the instructor. Looking for a regular meeting space for your children’s workshop or class? Contact us to see if renting WOW!’s activity rooms would be a good fit for you.
